As you are undoubtedly already aware, the specialty metals industry has, in recent months, been trying to cope with very significant increases in energy, raw material and alloy costs. The result has been the necessary introduction of various surcharges and price increases.

We at FlatGround.Com are likewise affected by the imposition of surcharges and price increases by our suppliers. Unfortunately, we are unable to absorb these significant added costs.

Accordingly, we regret the necessity to increase our prices effective March 15, 2004 .

Our objective will be to pass on any savings as and when the extraordinary cost escalations on the supply side stabilize and pricing can return to more normal levels. We hope to see some relief later this year. However, analysts are currently expressing concern that the weak dollar, escalation in ocean freight rates, etc., will keep prices at higher than usual levels for some time.
